In January 2016 I published my first art book. This book is a collection of my doodle art and watercolor paintings. With each painting I have told a story from my life and/or personal experience from my journey on being an artist. I’m excited to share with you one chapter from my book. This week is Chapter Number 38: “Take Just A Step At A Time”.
Have you ever watched a small child just learning how to walk? Sometimes they will see something across the room that they really want. Then when they try to walk over to it, they get so excited they can hardly walk and they look like they are going to stumble and fall, which sometimes they do.
That was kind of what I looked like in the beginning of my art career. I was just so excited about getting to the end, sometimes I looked like I was going to stumble and fall.
It took a lot of practice to just slow down and do things one at a time and finish each step before moving on to the next one.
I could always see that end goal and I was always excited to get there. The hard part was learning to be like that child just learning to walk. I had to learn to take it slow and take it just one step at a time so I didn’t stumble and fall.
