In January 2016 I published my first art book. This book is a collection of my doodle art and watercolor paintings. With each painting I have told a story from my life and/or personal experience from my journey on being an artist. I’m excited to share with you one chapter from my book. This week is Chapter Number 45: In The End.
I don’t like having regrets and so I try to minimize them as much as possible!
With me, there seems to be one common denominator to all my regrets. That one common denominator is fear. The reason I didn’t do something was fear. I was just too afraid to do something and now I regret it.
Granted, at the time I probably wrapped my ‘reasoning’ for not doing it with a score of seemingly plausible and elaborate excuses. Yet in the end they were only excuses and the real reason for not doing it was simply just fear.
However, for the times I did overcome my fears and pushed forward, the reward was so great. You would think that I would learn to keep pushing my way through the fear, yet I still let that ugly old fear get to me.
At least I now recognize fear for what it is and I don’t have to waste time coming up with excuses!
