In January 2016 I published my first art book. This book is a collection of my doodle art and watercolor paintings. With each painting I have told a story from my life and/or personal experience from my journey on being an artist. I’m excited to share with you one chapter from my book. This week is Chapter Number 46: Possibilities.
When my youngest son Bryan was little and he would be sad, upset or frustrated about something, we had a little game that we would play. It was called “In My World…”.
Basically how the game would work was if Bryan complained about something I would ask him the question, “so, how would this be different in your world?” In other words, what would be another possibility to change the situation?
Bryan would then have to start telling me how the situation would be different in his world.
One day we were in the car and traffic was really bad. Bryan was complaining about how slow it was moving. So I asked him the question “how would this be different in your world?” Bryan started telling how our car could lift up and fly above all the other cars and we would be out of the traffic.
From a child’s mind, (many years ago), I thought that was pretty good! Today as an adult Bryan has a great imagination and I have often wondered if this little game helped to form that imagination.
